CICF financially supports non-profit organizations that enrich our community, and strengthens the comradery of CI employees by promoting active volunteerism

OUR MISSION

Donations To Our Special Areas Of Focus

Cincinnati Incorporated has been involved with philanthropic activities within our communities for decades:

OUR HISTORY

1952

The Cincinnati Shaper Company Foundation was organized by the March brothers: Perrin III, John and David.

1957

The foundation was incorporated as a 501c3 Not-for-Profit Corporation.

1969

The foundation’s name was changed to the Whitewater Foundation. Historically, the foundation’s special area of focus centered around children’s causes.

2016

We decided it would be worthwhile to reinforce the linkage between CI and the Whitewater Foundation. Despite the fact that CI has funded the Whitewater Foundation for decades, very few people in the community understood the direct connection. For that reason, the name of the foundation was changed to the Cincinnati Incorporated Charitable Foundation (“CICF”).

“It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”

Why I joined the CICF

Secretary

“I am honored to serve CICF and believe that helping our communities ultimately helps CI and the families of its employees. Doing good for others is indeed good business. Quoting from the 1949 Ford Foundation report, “To get the best long-term results the foundation should not only provide grants to help competent men [and women] do their best work, but should also seek to increase the supply of competent men [and women].”

Treasurer

“From an early age I was taught that volunteering and helping others was not only my civic duty but also a great way to “give back” to society. I have been fortunate to be able to do so throughout my life and am honored to continue doing so by serving as a member of the CICF Philanthropy Team.”

Mark Ferneding

CICF PHILANTHROPY TEAM

Chair

“I joined the CICF team to play an active role in representing CI employees in our local communities. The CICF has afforded me the opportunity to interact with local and national organizations that impact key areas of interest of CI employees.”

Christian Conrad

CICF PHILANTHROPY TEAM

“Through my 30+ year career at CI, having worked on both the production floor and in the engineering office, has allowed me a unique perspective of employee values, in turn used to best select how and where the charitable funds should be directed.”

Karen D'Alessandro

CICF PHILANTHROPY TEAM

“I volunteered for our charitable organization because I like to help people. I don't want to see people going without basic things that others may take for granted. CICF provides a platform for our employees to help people on a bigger scale than one might be able to do individually.”

“Growing up in a farming community, looking out for neighbors was a principal my parents instilled in me at a very young age. I feel the same way regarding CI’s neighbors. Being a part of CICF here at CI gives me the opportunity to do just that. Neighbors taking care of neighbors.”

Su Keating

CICF PHILANTHROPY TEAM

“I have filed all the required forms for the Foundation (Whitewater and now CICF) since 1989. To actually be ‘a part of’ the team was an opportunity that I jumped at when it was presented. To have a say as to what organizations receive donations is very rewarding after all these years of being on the sidelines and doing only the reporting.”

Drew Schneider

CICF PHILANTHROPY TEAM

“I joined the CICF because I wanted to help make a difference for many hard working non-profit organizations.”

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

President

"I have been involved with children’s charities since I was 15 years old. And when asked by my father to be in charge of The Whitewater Foundation, I was very happy to say yes. To see how this has evolved into CICF and now to have so many members of the CI community involved, I couldn’t be more proud. I look forward to being able to help make CICF into a significant foundation to be able to pay back our community; from children, to students, to veterans, to seniors."
